CNN has been reporting that Matt Gaetz was involved in alleged sex trafficking— which Gaetz has denied.
They also reported that Gaetz had recently requested a private meeting with former President Trump.
CNN’s report, which cited “two people familiar with the matter,” said that close aides to Trump advised the former president “not to stick his neck out to defend Gaetz.”
In a statement issued on Monday night Trump wrote: “Fake News CNN, relying on all anonymous sources, meaning they probably made the whole thing up, wrote a very dishonest story claiming Congressman Matt Gaetz asked for a meeting with me at Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, and was denied. This is completely false.”
Project Veritas released a video in which CNN director Charlie Chester says that CNN’s coverage of the Gaetz “scandal” is propaganda.
“If the agenda say, is to get Matt Gaetz right now, he’s like this Republican. He’s a problem for the Democratic Party… So we’re (CNN) going to keep running these stories to keep hurting him.”
Since being exposed, Charlie Chester has deleted his Linkedin account, and as of yet CNN has been silent the exposè.
Conservative personalities have jumped on the opportunity to point out CNN’s hypocrisy. Here, Steven Crowder calls attention to Brian Stelter, CNN’s chief correspondent, anchor of “Reliable Sources” and author of “Hoax: Donald Trump, Fox News, and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth.”
